Bittensor TAO
Bittensor is a decentralized AI subnet network — and the most complex DePIN we cover. Three different paths: passive staking (easy), running a validator (advanced), or subnet mining (technical). Each has different math.

Since dTAO (Feb 2025), miners and validators are paid in per-subnet alpha tokens that float against TAO — figures here are TAO-denominated approximations and real value can swing sharply. The first halving (Dec 2025) cut emissions to 0.5 TAO/block. Mining/validating need registration cost + GPUs and can earn $0 if outcompeted. Retail users should stick to staking.
